Day 4: Fog and wet conditions don’t deter sailors on final day of racing

Toombs sails to Farr 30 title with perfect 10/10 1st-place finishes

CHESTER, NOVA SCOTIA (August 18, 2018) – After three nearly perfect sunny days, sailors brought out their foul weather gear for the fourth day of racing at Helly Hansen Chester Race Week 2018. Thick fog, swells and rains that varied from a sprinkling to torrential downpour didn’t dampen enthusiasm at the many start lines.

CHESTER, NOVA SCOTIA (August 17, 2018) – Sailors were keen to hit the courses with more wind and cooler temperatures on Day 3 of 2018 Helly Hansen Chester Race Week. Rain held off for another day, making for clear sailing for the 120 boats participating.

Day 1 boasts “Champagne” conditions, competitive fleets – 25 new skippers

CHESTER, NOVA SCOTIA (August 15, 2018) – The fog lifted and winds picked up just in time for 121 boats to start their races and kick off Chester Race Week 2018 in excellent form. Twenty five new skippers registered this year and boats came from as far away as Germany, New England, Ontario and Quebec which is a great bellwether for the future of keel boat racing. Many of the one design fleets were larger and more competitive than ever, especially the Bluenose class.
