Atlantic Yacht Sales Chester Race Week Results – Day 2

Chester, Nova Scotia – August 15, 2025 – Day 2 of Atlantic Canada’s premier keelboat regatta dawned with steady morning breezes, a welcome change from the calmer start to Day 1. Crews took to Mahone Bay ready for another round of fierce competition across all courses, with close mark roundings, tactical duels, and shifting wind conditions keeping tacticians on their toes.

Below are the results from today’s racing:

Bluenose Course – One Design Division

The Bluenose fleet saw Miss Behaviour (Ross Romney, Chester, NS) take the top spot with consistent finishes, followed by Geronimo (Aaron Stonehouse, Halifax, NS) in second and Sandpiper (Lisa Ross, Mahone Bay, NS) in third.

One Design Racing – Farr 30

Goose (Ben Maloney, Bedford, NS) led the Farr 30 class, with HeadFirst3 (Peter Toombs, Charlottetown, PEI) in second and Matador (Greg Blunden, Halifax, NS) in third.

IOD Class

Storm (Peter Wickwire, Halifax, NS) topped the standings, with Restless (Ted Murphy, Mahone Bay, NS) in second and Enigma (Max Flinn, Halifax, NS) third.

Sonar Class

Echo (John Franklin, Mahone Bay, NS) claimed first, followed by Ping (Andreas Josenhans, Lunenburg, NS) in second and So-Gnarly (Thomas Dauphinee, Lunenburg, NS) in third.

PHRF A Division

In PHRF NS A1, Overdraft X (James Gogan, Halifax, NS) took the win ahead of Jane (Andrew Childs, Halifax, NS) and Helix (Jordan MacNeil, Halifax, NS).


In PHRF NS A2, Youngblood (Larry Creaser, Chester, NS) led the fleet, followed by Dog Party (Terry McKenna, Charlottetown, PE) and Auster II (Todd Wilson, Chester Basin, NS).

PHRF B Division

In PHRF NS B1, Painkiller (Paul Fillbe-Dexter, Halifax, NS) took top honours, with Equinox (Rod Stright, Halifax, NS) second and Poohsticks (Colin Mann, Second Peninsula, NS) third.

PHRF NS B2 (Sport Boats) saw Great White (Mitchell Horn, Marriotts Cove, NS) win over Bangarang (Justin Bean, Head of St. Margaret’s Bay, NS) and Tetris (Graham Hart, Halifax, NS).

In PHRF NS B3, Just Add Water (Jesleine Baker, Halifax, NS) finished first, with Rollback (Margo Coughlin, Halifax, NS) second and Dark Water (Donald K Walker, Dartmouth, NS) third.

PHRF NS B4 winners were Dirty Blonde – Good Friday (Percy MacDonald, Brookside, NS) in first, Sting (Andrew Bell, Conquerall Bank, NS) second, and King of Normandy (Francois Guitton, Halifax, NS) third.

Pursuit Division

In Pursuit A, Gersemi (Paul Bezanson, Halifax, NS) took the win ahead of Brilliance (Chris Campbell, Chester, NS) and Vagrant (Grant Gordon, Dartmouth, NS).

In Pursuit B, Panthera (Donald Gass, Boutilier’s Point, NS) led the fleet, followed by Whitecap (Dayna Nelder, Mahone Bay, NS) and Nautically Hip (Mike Wilson, Chester, NS).

Atlantic Yacht Sales Chester Race Week continues through the weekend, with overall standings still wide open and more challenging racing conditions expected.
